Fill out hollow, sagging skin with fat from your own body
As we age, the skin of our faces begins to sag and areas may appear empty and hollow. Fillers (such as Restylane, Juvederm) are one option to hep diminish wrinkles and improve facial shape. Another choice is to inject one's own fat to fill in creases and restore a youthful facial volume.
What can I expect?Fat injection requires a more extensive procedure than soft tissue fillers like Restylane. Liposuction is performed to extract the fat from the areas of the patient's choice.
The fat is then purified and injected into their face. While most of the fat usually survives, it is a less predictable procedure compared to fillers such as Restylane and Juvederm. Sometimes multiple procedures are needed to achieve the desired results.
There is also some discomfort in the donor areas that should be discussed with your surgeon.
