Ear correction surgery, also known as otoplasty, can improve the shape, position or proportion of the ear. This surgery can correct a defect in the ear structure that is present at birth or treat misshapen ears caused by injury. Most men come to our clinic to ‘pin’ back ears that appear to be disproportionately sticking out.

Ear correction surgery usually takes place under a local anesthetic with sedation and usually involves making an incision behind the ear to expose the ear cartilage. The cartilage is then partially removed or reshaped (using stitches) into the desired shape and position.
